I tried Mplayer on my Iphone 3G jailbroken
Though Mplayer "sees" the 2 test files i put in the /var/media directory (one MPG file and one AVI file), none of these files accepts to launch and be played
The Mplayer version i use is the 0.9 alpha one, from 2008/11/11

Have you released your changes to the mplayer source? There are some features I would like to add to it. I'll update you with the changes when I am done, and you can remain the sole distributor.
I'd probably be willing to donate for this software if I knew that it worked... right now the version on cydia crashes back to the springboard every time after launch.
